Do You Want an Audience?
Word was spread that an opportunity would be given to reach out-to communicate ideas and activities freely for a large audience at the Frieze Art Fair. The chance was seized by a broad variety of individuals and groups, all driven by the desire to captivate an audience. During a five-day event a wide variation of non-commercial interests dominate the scene. Provided with a time slot, the participants were left with complete freedom over their activities. Participants: The Vegan Society featuring Weapons of Mass Destruction; Treadwell Book Shop, Christina Oakley “Witchcraft’s Subtle Art”, and Adam & Susanne, “Life Among the Psychics”; Speakers Corner, Heiko Khoo, Marxist speaker; Neil Latheman & Auburn Wilthshire, opera song and steel pan; Ilya Eigenbrot, Physician, “Test-Tube Dinners: The Science of Food and Cooking”; Swedenborg Society, Richard Long “Swedenborg’s Secret”; Casa Electro Novo, “From Vegas to Electro-Rock at High Speed”; Maro Doucouré, singer; British Rebirth Society; Raqs Sharqi Society, Egyptian Dance; Nick Dalton, architect “I wanna get there and I wanna get there now”; 8i8, feautering Heather Society, Art Terry and Angharad Davies, Ben Drew and Matt Davis; Serena, Bollywood Dance; Deborah Fink “The Diva with a Difference, a Political Sorprano”; Para-Site Theatre Company.
