This work was realised during a period when the Hayward Gallery went through a series of renovations, leaving the characteristic Brutalist building shut down. The neon sign of the façade was reprogrammed and made dysfunctional, its light restlessly flickering and at times disappearing altogether. As if the operations on the inside slowly were bringing about an overall collapse, the Hayward logo signalled its own fragmented code of frustration.
